New DelhiIn advance of the 2026 T20 World Cup, Ireland Cricket has revealed their team. It is noteworthy that Mark Adair, Ben Calit, Paul Stirling, and numerous other elite players will be leading the team in the competition.
It's interesting to note that Ireland is in Group B of the competition with countries like Bangladesh, Australia, Oman, and Sri Lanka. They will try to perform well, but the team may find it difficult to advance to the knockout stages given the difficult group they face.
In addition, Tim Tector and Harry have both established themselves in the team and will be striving to give their best effort in advance of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Andrew White shared his opinions about the team.In addition, Ireland's national men's team selector, Andrew White, spoke about the players' chances in the tournament and the makeup of the team during the squad announcement.
It would be an understatement to say that we are eagerly anticipating this T20 World Cup. We probably weren't at our best in 2024 after a memorable 2022 tournament, and we've been waiting to fix that ever since," White was quoted by Cricbuzz as saying.
"We have tested a variety of tactics, roles, and combinations over the past 18 months, and we are pleased with the squad's current position heading into the tournament. We have a fairly stable squad, as evidenced by the presence of 12 of the 15 players from the 2024 campaign, but we have also been able to start incorporating some exciting new talent, like Tim Tector, Ben Calitz, and Matthew Humphreys, who give the playing group an additional dynamic quality," White stated.
