VaranasiThe 72nd National Volleyball Championship was recently opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He participated in the Varanasi event via video conference. PM Modi emphasized the value of teamwork in the sport and sent his best wishes to athletes from all over the nation.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak were present when the Prime Minister officially opened the event. It's interesting to note that there are currently 58 teams competing in the tournament, which is scheduled to end on January 11.
You may have noticed that more than 20 international events, such as the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, the Hockey World Cup, and numerous chess tournaments, have been held in a number of cities over the last ten years. India is also slated to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games. PM Modi stated, "India is currently actively preparing to bid for the 2036 Olympics."
"Volleyball is a cooperative and balanced sport that also requires willpower. Volleyball fosters a sense of unity among us. I see a lot of parallels between volleyball and India's development story," he continued.
PM Modi greeted the Kashi athletes.Additionally, PM Modi made sure to extend a warm welcome to the athletes from Kashi. He praised the players for reaching the stage and noted how "Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat" was depicted in the event.
"It gives me great pleasure to welcome and congratulate each and every player as the Kashi Member of Parliament. You have all worked very hard to get to this national tournament, and the National Volleyball Championship begins today. "You are all presenting a beautiful picture of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' (One India, Great India), and teams from 28 states have come here," he remarked.
