New DelhiDamien Martyn, a former Australian cricket player, has been in the news lately after becoming ill on December 26 and being admitted to the hospital, placed in the intensive care unit, and put into an induced coma. Adam Gilchrist took center stage and gave an update as the fans were concerned about Martyn's health.
Martyn is no longer in a coma and has been moved out of the intensive care unit in what is being called a miraculous turnaround. It's important to note that Martyn was able to communicate with his family after emerging from the coma.
"The past 48 hours have seen an incredible change in circumstances. He can now respond to treatment and speak. Gilchrist was cited by ESPNcricinfo as saying, "He has responded extraordinarily well since coming out of the coma, to the point where his family feels it's like some sort of miracle."
They are optimistic that he will be able to leave the intensive care unit and relocate to another area of the hospital, which is indicative of how well he has recovered and how quickly things have turned around. He is overwhelmed by the support and in a good mood. He continued, "It's looking good, but there is still some treatment and monitoring to go."
Additionally, Girlchrist disclosed Martyn's future plans.Gilchrist also discussed the opinions of Damien Martyn's wife, Amanda, who expressed her belief that Martyn's remarkable recovery has been aided by the love and support of the fans.
"His wife Amanda simply wants to express to everyone how much she believes that everyone's love, kindness, and concern—both through messages and media coverage—helped him. They simply feel fortunate that so many people have wanted to help him during his difficult time. He said, "The turnaround has been miraculous, but he will stay in the hospital and continue receiving treatment."
