New Delhi: The day after taking the oath as Bihar Chief Minister for a record 10th time, on Friday allocated portfolios. As per the allocation, Kumar kept the general administration, cabinet secretariat vigilance departments to himself, while Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary was given the home department. Vijay Kumar Sinha, who is also a Deputy Chief Minister, has been allocated the mines and geology department and the revenue and land reforms department.
On the other hand, Dilip Jaiswal, BJP's Bihar unit chief, was made the industries minister and party leader Mangal Pandey was given the health and law ministries. Nitin Nabin retained the urban development and housing and road construction departments, while Ram Kripal Yadav got agriculture. Sanjay Singh Tiger and Narayan Prasad were given labour resources and disaster management departments, respectively.
Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary was given the water resources, parliamentary affairs, information and public relations department. JDU's Bijendra Prasad Yadav was given the finance, energy, planning and development departments. Shrawan Kumar was given the rural development department and Sunil Kumar the education and science and technology departments.
The two ministers of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) were allocated sugarcane industries and public health engineering portfolios.

Nitish Kumar's grand swearing-in ceremony
Kumar, a JDU chief and a member of the Bihar Legislative Council, was sworn in as Bihar chief minister for a record 10th time on Thursday at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The oath was administered to him by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. Along with Kumar, 26 ministers – 14 from the BJP, eight from the JDU, two from the LJP-RV, and one each from the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and the Rashtriya Lok Manch (RLM) – were sworn in.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda. Apart from them, several other union ministers and chief ministers of National Democratic Alliance-ruled states, including Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, were present during the swearing-in ceremony.
NDA's sweeping victory in Bihar
The NDA, under Kumar's leadership, swept the two-phased Assembly elections in Bihar, winning 202 seats. The BJP emerged as the single largest party with 89 seats, followed by the JDU, which won 85 seats. The LJP-RV won 19, the HAM(S) five and the RLM four.
The Mahagathbandhan won just 35 seats, with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) winning 25 seats, followed by Congress with six, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) with two, and one each for the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Indian Inclusive Party (IIP).
