In Kolkata:The Kolkata Knight Riders lost their sixth match of the Indian Premier League on Thursday, making them winless after two games. They lost to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was their first home game of the season, but the team didn't do well and lost by 65 runs to SRH, who won their first game of IPL 2026. This loss puts KKR in ninth place on the points table, while SRH moves up to sixth place.
The Orange Army played almost perfectly, with the only thing that went wrong being the toss. Their first pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma scored 82 runs in just 5.4 overs. Even though they fell from 111/2 to 118/4 in just six deliveries, SRH never seemed to lose their way.
Reddy deserves credit for the recovery because they rebuilt the innings in the second half with an 82-run stand and started the attack in the death over, which helped the team score 226 runs in their 20 overs.
KKR couldn't keep up with SRH after a good start, thanks to Finn Allen, who hit 25 runs in the first over off David Payne. They kept losing wickets, though, and it was only a half-century from Angkrish Raghuvanshi that kept them in the game. Rinku Singh came out to bat at the end of the powerplay, but he messed up another chance to score big and got out on 35.
CSK is still at the bottom of the points table. The Rajasthan Royals are at the top of the points table because they beat the Chennai Super Kings by a lot in their first game of the season. After them are the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings, who all won their first games of the season.
The Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants are in seventh and eighth place, respectively. CSK is still at the bottom of the table.
